Executive Medical Director
As the Medical Director for NHS Fife you will be the driving force in the
delivery of high quality, safe and person centred care for the population
of Fife working closely with the executive Nurse Director. This will be based
on the Board’s Clinical Strategy which is in line with the National Clinical
Strategy. The strategy incorporates our approach to the implementation of
Realistic Medicine in Fife and will be building in our response to value based
care for the future.
As the environment within which the post will operate changes, as a result
of developing both local and regional approaches to the challenges faced,
you must be able to bring about transformational change displaying the
appropriate core NHS Scotland values and behaviours. These include the
ability to work collaboratively with partners and deliver solutions by inspiring,
encouraging and supporting the workforce to deliver high quality and
outputs focused care.
As a key member of the Executive Team you will exert strong influence and
leadership in the integration of Acute and Primary Care/Community services
and in the integration of Health and Social Care.
You will have significant experience at senior clinical leadership level in
medical management in a healthcare environment and will have the personal
credibility and interpersonal skills to lead and deliver in a politically sensitive
and demanding role.
NHS Fife is responsible for the health of a population of over 370,000 people
across Fife. Services are delivered through Acute based services located
at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline and Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
Our Health and Social Care Partnership provides primary and community
care, mental health, learning disability and children’s services.
Fife is situated 15 miles from Edinburgh and offers excellent quality of life
opportunities with extensive cultural and environmental attractions with
excellent road, rail and air transport links. High quality education, affordable
housing and a wide variety of sporting and leisure opportunities are available
throughout the region.
