Consultant in General Practice
CONSULTANT IN GENERAL PRACTICE
WITHIN ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
Applications are invited for the above post of Consultant, one based on each of the main sites of the Western Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will join the A&E teams on both sites.
These are new posts that have been created to bridge the divide between Primary and Secondary care. The post holders will be fully integrated with the A&E departments, but also work within the local Primary care arena, so will be pivotal in leading the improvements to the relationships. The post holder will lead the team of established “GPs in A&E” working to ensure that patients are managed in the most appropriate way and therefore not admitted if this is not felt to be necessary. They are exciting new posts and will attract people who like working in nonstandard ways and are flexible in their thinking.
