We are an exciting and innovative NHS organisation making quality and service improvement our priority. As a small mental health Trust we pride ourselves on our ability to provide excellent mental health care across the lifespan to the residents of Dudley and Walsall.

Post available:

1 x 0.63 wte Specialty Doctor for General Adult in Dudley (TRAC: 1117311)

You are invited to apply for one of a number of posts available as a Specialty Doctor in the Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust to join medical colleagues providing continuity of care for a sector population, including outpatient; community and inpatient care.

These are replacement posts, in well-established and well led medical teams, working with a substantive consultant and trainee psychiatrists. You will support his/her medical colleagues and a substantial multi-disciplinary team in assessing; treating and managing working age adults living in a sector area. Partnership working with GPs and primary care is a focus of our development as we are part of a Vanguard service. Good bed management allows patients to be treated close to home, and is supported by a strong CRHT team and the continuity of care model.

Dudley and Walsall provides all age mental health services from CAMHS to Older Adults in the two Black Country localities of Dudley and Walsall. We have shown a strong commitment to delivering excellent and safe services, and pride ourselves on being able to attract and retain the highest quality of medical professionals. We are a teaching Trust, teaching undergraduates from Birmingham Medical Schools, St Georges Grenada, and part of the Black Country training scheme with core and higher specialist trainees from the West Midlands School of Psychiatry. We have a good record of encouraging and supporting specialty doctors if their aim is to achieve postgraduate exams and go on to Higher Specialist Training. There are good opportunities for applicants interested in education and research. Specialty Doctors will cover on average 1:11 out of hour’s second on-call rota.
