Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust wishes to support the established specialist Emergency General Surgery and Trauma Unit by the appointment of up to 2 Consultants in Emergency General Surgery and Trauma.

The Trust is the regional trauma centre for Cheshire and Merseyside. It is a leading provider of specialist emergency general surgical care in the UK, providing general surgical cover to a population of one third of a million patients from North Liverpool, Sefton Borough and Kirkby. As a teaching hospital of the University of Liverpool there is an excellent Clinical Sciences Research and Education Centre with a modern well equipped library and IT centre. Applicants must be appropriately registered and licensed with the General Medical Council. Experience in the General Surgical aspects of Major Trauma is essential. Sub-specialty interests are encouraged but experience in acute biliary surgery is desirable.
