Consultant General Paediatrician with an Interest in Neurology

Applications are invited for a Consultant post; we are looking for a dynamic and motivated consultant paediatrician to join our friendly and enthusiastic team at the James Paget University Hospital.

We are seeking an energetic and experienced paediatrician who can further develop the high standards maintained by the paediatric team. This post requires experience in paediatrics with a specialist interest in Paediatric Neurology.

The appointee will be expected to hold CCT in General Paediatrics (or with or within 6 months of attaining) we are especially keen to find someone to fit into our Neurology/Epilepsy/ Neurodevelopment team.

While on call you will be covering the children’s ward and a level 1 NICU, this post involves 1 non-residential (on call from home) night each fortnight, 1:18 Hot/service weeks including weekend on call non-residential cover (clinic will be cancelled during this week), 3 Weekly Paediatric outpatient clinics, One day 0900-1700 per week – Children’s ward or Neonatal Unit cover (except every third week) FTE 11 PA’s, including DCC 8.5 + SPA 1.5.  Additional PAs (up to a maximum of 12) are available in Acute Paediatrics and from our integrated Community Paediatric Team depending on the successful candidate’s abilities and interests.

The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (JPUH) provides medical services for a population of approximately 230,000 living in South East Norfolk and North East Suffolk, plus a large number of visitors to the coast and Broads National Park during the summer months. In addition, it provides approximately a third of the secondary care teaching for the new UEA Medical School. The Trust has foundation status and is highly regarded within the region.
