We are looking for an enthusiastic interventional radiologist to join our team and support the regional IR network with Hillingdon Hospital. The post involves sessions at both Hillingdon Hospital and Northwick Park. The number of sessions at each site will depend on the needs of the service and the skillset of the appointment.
The West London Vascular and Interventional Center was formed in April 2016 and offers a full range of vascular services including clinics, vascular imaging, wards, open vascular surgery and interventional (vascular and non-vascular) procedures.
There is a modern hybrid operating theatre, a conventional operating room and an angio suite at NPH, and access to angiosuites at the Ealing hospital site & The Hillingdon Hospital site. There is also a blood flow laboratory and specialised clinics. We run a daily team meeting with the surgeons and interventional radiologists where all cases for the day are discussed and prioritised.
There are regular management meetings for the entire team, including junior staff, nurses and radiographers to discuss day to day service, business planning and service improvement initiatives with a Weekly MDT and virtual ward round taking place.
There are dedicated on call rotas for the radiology and surgical consultants, supported by an SpR on call rota.
The Trust has committed to investment in a new co-located unit for the West London Vascular and Interventional Centre due for completion by the early 2019.
