Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine
We invite applications for the above position, which is based at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen. This a redesigned post, which has been created by including some additional investment to the service to support the implementation of the Major Trauma Centre at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the reduction in sessional commitment by a number of the consultant team as a proactive plan towards career-end work patterns.
This post will join a vibrant team of Consultants providing a Rehabilitation Medicine service across a range of settings in Woodend hospital, ARI and other community settings. The post holder will contribute to the existing Grampian Specialist Rehabilitation Services. Indeed, the existing medical staff would be happy to consider re-allocation of duties within the Consultant team, according to candidates’ strengths and special interests.
The successful candidate will be joining a friendly medical team which works closely with specialist nursing colleagues and has well developed links with a wide range of AHP disciplines, including Bioengineering, Neuropsychology, Prosthetics and Orthotics. We work with Acute colleagues at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and have several Inpatient Rehabilitation Units at Woodend Hospital. There is a range of community work undertaken by the service. Our Department has several trainee medical staff, contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, and is engaged in research activity.
