Consultant in Cardiology with a special interest in Coronary Intervention
Applications are invited to apply for the above post for the Cardiology Department at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a large tertiary cardiac centre serving a population of 2.5 million that undertakes approximately 1300 PCI procedures including 350 PPCIs, and 15,000 new outpatients per year.
As a leading University Hospital a contribution to the academic output of the Department is considered to be an important part of the role. However, this does not necessarily require leadership of an individual research programme. Thus, applicants with a clinical research interest are strongly encouraged to consider this post. For those candidates who are qualified and interested, BRC funding to support research activity may become available on a competitive basis after appointment.
The Oxford Biomedical Research Centre is a partnership between Oxford University Hospitals and the University of Oxford funded by the National Institute for Health Research. Where BRC PAs are awarded, modification of the job content will be discussed on an individual case basis, in consultation with consultant colleagues.
Candidates are highly recommended to visit the department and hospital and are invited to contact: Professor Rajesh Kharbanda, Clinical Lead of the Cardiology Intervention CSU, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, The John Radcliffe (Tel: 01865 220325).
