Consultant in Cardiology with subspecialty interest in Structural Intervention
Applications are invited to apply for the above post for the Cardiology Department at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
OUHFT is a large tertiary cardiac centre serving a population of 2.5 million that undertakes approximately 1300 PCI procedures including 350 PPCI per annum, 200 TAVI procedures, 40 ASD closures and a range of structural interventions.
The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Cardiologist in Structural Cardiology (on a full-time basis). You must hold or be eligible for full registration with the GMC. In addition, you should hold a MRCP or equivalent. Clinical and Management expertise is essential. You should also demonstrate a commitment to research and education in this field.
Experience and interest in other intervention modalities is actively welcomed and encouraged. Applicants with clinical research interest are encouraged to consider this post. As a leading University Hospital a contribution to the academic output of the Department is considered to be an important part of the role. However, this does not necessarily require leadership of research programmes but for those candidates who are qualified and interested, BRC funding to support this activity is likely to be available. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis, in consultation with the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre and the University of Oxford.
Candidates are highly recommended to visit the department and hospital and are invited to contact: Professor Rajesh Kharbanda, Clinical Lead of the Cardiology Intervention CSU, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, The John Radcliffe (Tel: 01865 220325).
