Looking for a breath of fresh air?

Want to work in Primary Care but maintain your skills across the whole spectrum of Acute Care? Then we’d like to hear from you.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team of Emergency Medical Practitioners in the Emergency Department at Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin - a great place to live and work, lying between the coast of the Moray Firth and the mountains of the Highlands and the Cairngorm National Park.

The Emergency Department sees approximately 25,000 patients per year with the General Practice Out of Hours (OOH’s) Centre being co-located in recently refurbished accommodation and enjoying the benefits of the Emergency Department team and hospital support. As part of a salaried contract, you will work in a Consultant-led department that sees a whole range of emergency patients from primary care presentations to major trauma and provide service to the GP Out of Hours service overnight.

The Emergency Department has 24/7 senior doctor cover and a Consultant-delivered Trauma Team as well as a full complement of Foundation and GP trainee doctors and a Nurse-led Minor Injury stream. These posts have recently been enhanced to provide 24/7 cover on a shift basis so you will work daytime shifts as well as out-of-hours to benefit from ongoing training and development to fulfil the role and as part of annual appraisal and Personal Development Plans.

The Consultants have interests in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Pre-Hospital Care, Education and Ultrasound and you will have the opportunity to participate if interested.

You will have completed specialist training in General Practice with an interest and the enthusiasm to work in an Emergency Department environment as well as Primary Care.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
