Consultant Respiratory Physician with Specialist Interests
The successful applicant will join Dr Bateman and Dr Bell in taking rotational responsibility for the regional adult CF service, covering in-patients and those on home IV antibiotics, and leading CF multidisciplinary clinics. As part of the wider Respiratory Department, the postholder will contribute to the general respiratory inpatient, Acute Medical Unit respiratory in-reach and “Hot” Clinic consultant rotas; take part in the Acute Medical Take consultant rota; share a weekly bronchoscopy list; and provide a further respiratory clinic.
The configuration of the post is negotiable, and the proportion of CF versus other responsibilities is flexible depending upon the candidate’s experience in the specialty. The Respiratory Department is expanding and reconfiguring and particularly welcomes those who wish to take part in service development, particularly in the area of non-CF bronchiectasis.
The Bristol Adult CF Centre is highly research active and the postholder would be encouraged to take part in its research programme. UHBristol is a large teaching Trust and the post will suit those with an interest in medical education.
Applicants wishing to work less than full time or to job share are encouraged to apply.
