You are invited for the post of Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with Expertise in Cystic Fibrosis and Chronic Lung Infection. This post is a replacement post; it is a whole time Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with Expertise in Cystic Fibrosis and Chronic Lung Infection.

You will join 4.5 wte physicians to provide specialist CF and chronic lung Infection management, evaluated as outpatients, day cases and inpatients. 

The major clinical meetings are the main CF Multi-Disciplinary Meeting ward round, which generally lasts for 2 to 3 hours; this covers the rotational periods of 3 weeks, on ward service, ambulatory care and clinic delivery. There is also the monthly Cystic Fibrosis and Chronic Lung Infection research meeting as well as the weekly grand round held in the Respiratory Directorate.

You will co-provide, with the three consultant physician colleagues, a clinical service in cystic fibrosis and chronic lung infection in accordance with clinical and legal requirements, at a standard in keeping with the role of the department as a national and international clinical leader in the field. 

You will co-develop the service, integrating advances in diagnosis and management and informing colleagues of these developments.

You would be expected to take part in the on-call rota one in 14 (one of them being this post) comprising of consultants that have opted in to participate in the on-call rota. 

You are required to be fully registered Medical Practitioners and must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the Register within six months from date of interview for the post.
