Director of Gastroenterology
About the Role
The Monash Health Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit is one of the largest Services in Victoria, which provides gastroenterology and hepatology clinical services to multiple sites across the health service. Reporting to the Program Director, Surgery and Interventional Services, the Director has responsibility for the effective management and leadership of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Service provision across all Monash Health sites.
The Gastroenterology Service has multiple streams and the new Director, in conjunction with the Program executive will have the opportunity to review and align the strategic direction and structure of the Unit. The Director will be a collaborative and inclusive leader who models the values of the organisation. The Director will support excellence in interdisciplinary clinical practice, facilitate clinical education to advance and deliver Gastroenterological services with excellence in patient-centred care. The appointee will have change management skills to implement and support models of care that ensure streamlined and effective access to services and coordinated care. The Director will support research activities and enhance the unit’s staff development and engagement.
The appointee will be key in developing & maintaining partnerships with the key Monash Partners
- Monash University- School of Clinical sciences –Dept of Medicine
- Monash Health Translation Precinct ( MHTP)
- Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre (MPAHSC)
The Director will hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and be a member of Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA). A joint Monash Health & Monash University appointment will be considered for the appropriate candidate.
