Applications are invited for the above Locum Consultant Anaesthetist posts based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The posts are available with immediate effect for a fixed term duration of 9 months. 

Located in the North East of Scotland, Aberdeen is an affluent, friendly and vibrant city, combining all the amenities of a large city with quick, easy access to its beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline.  

Aberdeen has a large Anaesthetic department which covers a comprehensive range of clinical services, and, as a teaching hospital department there is strong involvement in a wide range of educational, quality improvement, and research activities.    

The posts are designated as full time 10 PA’s; 8.5 Direct Clinical Care PA’s and 1.5 SPA’s. However, applications from candidates wishing to work on part time basis will equally be considered. It will also be possible to accommodate more flexible working arrangements including annualised job plans and job sharing.

The job plan will include weekly theatre sessions for a variety of surgical specialties including General Surgery, Elective Orthopaedics, Trauma, Gynaecology, Plastics, Urology, ENT and OMFS.  Subspecialty experience in Paediatric, Obstetric and Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia can also be accommodated. There are no on call commitments and the successful candidate will not be expected to work out of hours.
