Applications are invited for the post(s) of Consultant in Older People Services, working for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, Cornwall.

The Older People Services are based at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, but have extensive input into a variety of healthcare settings across the acute Trust, community hospitals and community services. 

We are a large and dynamic department and these appointments reflect our expanding remit with the healthcare community and within the acute Trust.  The successful applicant will be expected to help provide a variety of services on a rotational basis in keeping with their own subspecialty interests and the needs of the organisation.

Sub-Specialties include:

  • Ortho-Geriatrics
  • Stroke
  • Acute Care
  • Parkinsons Disease
  • Syncope and Falls

For new consultants the job plan for this post will include 2.5 SPAs for the first year

Relocation packages are available for consultants looking to move to Cornwall to take up this post.  Dual accredited options can also be explored.

Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / EU equivalent certification at the time of interview.  Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time or those wishing to job-share.
