Consultant Paediatrician in Neurodisability & Neurorehabilitation
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant with postgraduate training in paediatric neurodisability to make a lasting difference to children with brain injury and severe neurodisability. You will gain unique experience in neurorehabilitation and management of complex neurodisability.
The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service. Providing residential accommodation for children with highly complex neurodisability, we are the only centre commissioned by NHS England for Category A neurorehabilitation. Additionally, we provide rehabilitation services for Category B children, including: transition, stepdown and short breaks.
As a Consultant, you will be a key member of the Medical Team, providing clinical care for children with brain injury across The Children’s Trust. You will assess new children, identify clinical risks, write treatment plans and medical reports, and provide regular medical support. Working hours are 9am - 5pm daily, with a rotational contribution to the Out of Hours Care Service, by telephone.
To succeed in this high profile and diverse role, you must have a CCT in Paediatric Neurodisability; Community Paediatrics; or Paediatrics, relevant medical qualifications, and be able to demonstrate:
- Full professional GMC registration and licence to practice, and a MB BS or equivalent
- Strong clinical skills, combined with excellent child and family focussed interpersonal skills
- A caring, supportive and can-do approach
- Willingness to commitment to receive further specialist training in Neurorehabilitation.
Boasting a beautiful 24-acre site in Surrey, we are located just outside of London, close to the M25 (accessible via Junction 8, A217 to Tadworth) and easily accessible via National Rail, by way of: Clapham Junction, Sutton and Epsom.
The work we do is highly rewarding, and in addition to an attractive salary, we offer a valuable range of benefits, including: free on-site parking; subsidised cafeteria; on-site staff accommodation (subject to availability); the ability to retain your NHS pension (or the opportunity to join an alternative scheme); and the opportunity to develop and implement your expertise in an environment that is as unusual in its beautiful historic nature, as it is unique in its state-of-the-art facilities.
