Consultant Clinical Oncologists
Let your ambition lead you to Northampton
You’re a talented clinical oncologist. You’re keen to advance in your area of interest. And you’d like to work with bright, caring colleagues – people who are all about teamwork and partnership. Ideally, you’d love to be part of an outstanding culture, one that puts patient safety above all else. Somewhere that aspires to excellence, as well as valuing respect and support for each other.
That’s why Northampton General should be the next destination for your career.
Right now, we’re looking for four consultant clinical oncologists (10 PA) to join our first-class Oncology team. Specifically, you’ll bring experience in Urological & Lower GI Malignancies, Breast, Sarcoma RT, Thyroid & Haematology RT, Gynae Malignancies, Head & Neck, or Lung & Brain.
Not your specialism? No problem – we’d still love to talk to you about how we can work together.
Northampton General is part of the South East Midland Oncology Centre (SEMOC). You’ll find that we’re large enough to get some very interesting cases, but small enough to focus on the individual. That means you won’t get lost in the crowd. Instead, you’ll grow your own reputation while you’re adding to ours, locally and regionally.
Here’s where you’ll be encouraged to pursue what’s important to you by an exceptional range of healthcare professionals. You’ll be enrolled on our mentoring scheme, given 10 days’ study leave each year, and you’ll learn much more than you thought possible. How else will you stay at the cutting edge of your practice? In time, you’ll be offered excellent management opportunities too.
Day to day, you’ll oversee the management of patients through Outpatients, as well as Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy pathways. You’ll be on hand to provide advice to medical teams on the provision of inpatient care. At all times, you’ll be surrounded by colleagues with an optimistic outlook. Whether you’re participating in patient-centred care or clinical trials.
Supporting patients and clinics in both Northampton and Kettering hospitals, you’ll be located in a beautiful part of the country. Plus, you’ll find excellent schools, recreational and leisure facilities, and great transport links to London and Europe, all within the local area.
For further information about these roles or to arrange an informal visit, please contact our Clinical Director, Dr Craig Knighton, via his PA on 01604 545182.
