Applications are invited for a consultant histopathologist post at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated colleague to join the cellular pathology team at Chester. This is a replacement post and is an opportunity to work in a vibrant department with a large and varied workload. The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS FT is collaborating with Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS FT to develop a single pathology service to serve the joint population needs of both Trusts and primary care.
This is a full time position but candidates wishing to work part-time or in a job share are encouraged to apply. If a part-time or job-share person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed with the appointee on a personal basis.
The department is associated with the Merseyside training scheme. Teaching and research are encouraged and a major emphasis is placed on quality through regular audit and case review meetings.
Chester is a famous tourist destination, but also with great housing and schools, both government and independent. It offers excellent facilities, easy access to the motorway network and regional airports and is not far from the Lake District and Snowdonia.
The successful candidate must have full GMC registration, possess FRCPath (Histopathology) or equivalent, have completed specialist training and be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
