Are you an individual who is rewarded by doing a job they love? Then you may be who we are looking for.

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative individual who will contribute to the continuing development of our service and all aspects of clinical care.

The Trust is fully committed to providing a first-class Emergency Care Service well supported by the rest of the hospital.

You will be based at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester. Our current team of 14 Consultants (13.5 WTE) takes part in a 1:6.5 on-call rota across both sites.

The post is a full-time position and will bring the on-call frequency to 1:7 in line with RCEM recommendations. Candidates hoping to work less than full-time will be equally welcome.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was formed in January 2012 following the merger of Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust with Winchester and Eastleigh NHS Healthcare Trust.

The resulting Trust has a population base of 600,000, which enables a full provision of services across both sites and the repatriation of certain services which are currently provided by networked care solutions.

The HHFT Emergency Departments are dynamic and forward-thinking units, delivering a high level of emergency healthcare to the population. We have excellent research and education programmes and are heavily involved in a number of other regional initiatives.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a designated satellite teaching unit of Southampton Medical School and receives medical students on a regular basis. Our Education Centre has expanded to include a high-fidelity simulator centre.

You are required to be on the GMC specialist register for Emergency Medicine or be within 6 months of obtaining your CCT by the interview date.
