You are invited to apply for a post as a Trust Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital. This allows us to attract, train and retain the best doctors and contribute towards the financial stability of the organisation.
The first students arrived on the wards in May 2015 and by the beginning of 2018 a purpose built medical school and postgraduate building will have been constructed on site, creating an exciting opportunity for staff interested in the field of clinical research and education.
Located just 50 miles north of London, Milton Keynes has excellent access to the capital, whilst being centrally located for Oxford and Cambridge and having ease of access to the midlands and north. Lying in attractive countryside, Milton Keynes offers first class facilities for sport, theatre, music, shopping and dining.
You will work a 1 in 10 (Weekday) and 1 in 3 (Weekend) resident on call rota, covering Obstetrics, ICU or Theatres depending on experience. The post would normally exceed the basic 10 PA full time contract and thus additional PA’s are offered to compensate. It would be expected that the successful applicant will participate in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students, associated with the University of Buckingham, and will also be expected to support colleagues doing these activities as part of his or her arranged job plan.
As a young, dynamic and supportive department, we offer you the ability to gain an excellent level of experience, both clinically and educationally, whilst being rewarded with training and support. You will play an active part in our training program and will contribute to educational commitments alongside the Deanery trainees.
In return, we expect you to have sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job, with experience of anaesthesia in an acute care setting, including elective and emergency work. Experience of Obstetric anaesthesia is important for the role. Full registration with the GMC is a requirement to take up this post.
We believe the continued growth of the hospital will allow us to expand and improve our services to offer the very best care to the people of Milton Keynes, and beyond.
