We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our Respiratory Medicine service based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. This opportunity has arisen as one of our established substantive consultants wishes to partake in a job share.

The Sleep and Ventilation service is part of the Barts Thorax Centre which has a world-wide reputation as a service dedicated to treating patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions. You will join a multi-disciplinary specialist team providing care for respiratory patients. 

You will also be involved in the Respiratory Medicine service provided at the Royal London Hospital including the review of Acute Respiratory patients on weekday mornings and the care of inpatients on the Respiratory wards there, as well as the weekend on call rota. All members of the Respiratory Medicine department contribute to this service in rotation. 

You should be eligible for full registration with the General Medical Council and be on the specialist register and possess a CCT in both Respiratory and General (Internal) Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent, or be within 6 months of obtaining it. 

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to make a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation at their interview. It will be entitled, “Given the current financial pressures and limited resources on the NHS, how would you overcome the challenges to implement an optimal sleep and ventilation service pathway?”
