Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist
Southern Health NHS Foundation provides specialist mental health services, learning disability services, community physical health services including community hospitals and specialist inpatient units, and primary care across Hampshire, and is one of the largest providers of its kind in the country.
We provide care to around 240,000 people each year, and employ over 6000 people, including doctors, nurses, therapists and support staff. We are part of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sustainability & Transformation Plan. We have an active research department and are a teaching trust, delivering training and teaching to trainees from a range of clinical backgrounds.
We are looking to recruit three consultant forensic psychiatrists to join the existing consultant team at Ravenswood House, our adult medium secure hospital based in Knowle in Fareham, Hampshire. These are full-time replacement posts.
Ravenswood House is part of the specialised secure services provided by Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. Other specialised services include low secure inpatient hospitals, adolescent low in medium secure hospitals and community forensic services including outpatient personality disorder and Pathfinder service, community forensic team, community forensic learning disability team and a stalking clinic. A new adolescent low secure service is being developed, and there are plans for a comprehensive re-provision of adult secure services.
Applications are invited from psychiatrists on the GMC Specialist Register or doctors who are Specialty Trainees within 6 months of completion of the CCT or hold an equivalent European or Non-European qualification.
This is an exciting time for specialised services in our Trust as we are embarking on ambitious plans to comprehensively re-provide our services. There are opportunities for consultants to participate in service development, the Stalking Clinic, and re-provision as well as management and leadership
