Consultant in Older Peoples' Mental Health
Are you a psychiatrist who wants to work with a trust who is keen to value you and your opinion in shaping its services and provision of Older Peoples Mental Health Services? Due to a reconfiguration and an expansion of our services in Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust we have a number of opportunities that have arisen for an Old Age Consultant Psychiatrist to join The Older Peoples Mental Health team across Hampshire. This particular post is working in the community locality of the West New Forest area which is situated in South West Hampshire, with a catchment area of approximately 13,000 people Older Adults.
The post holder will work alongside another full-time Consultant Psychiatrist as well as a part time Consultant psychiatrist as part of a combined larger team who are well-established and able to undertake initial assessments of referrals, including urgent referrals and cover the whole of the West New Forest area. The post holder will also be supported by a part-time Specialty Doctor (6 sessions) who works across the wider community patch, supporting senior psychiatrists.
The post holder will be based at the Becton Centre,The Fairway, Barton on Sea, New Milton BH25 7AE, where the integrated community teams and administration staff are co-located. The post holder will have community responsibilities and on call duties (approximately 1 in 14)
Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a Licence to Practice. They must possess the MRCPsych or equivalent qualification and must also be on the GMC Specialist Register for Old Age Psychiatry (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR (CP) date within 6 months of interview. Applicants must also be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.
