Sussex Partnership Trust provides mental health, learning disability, prison healthcare and nursing home services to the people of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex and parts of Hampshire and is a Teaching Trust in association with Brighton and Sussex Medical School. We are part of a wider health and social care network and we work in partnership with our staff, volunteers, education and other agencies. Close links are being developed with the universities and medical school and there is a thriving Sussex wide training scheme in psychiatry.

The Forensic Healthcare Service has extensive experience of providing forensic mental health and prison healthcare across Sussex and we use that experience to continuously improve and develop our services. These include Low Secure Services (Chichester, West Sussex), Medium Secure Services (Hellingly, East Sussex), Police and Court Liaison and Diversion Services across Sussex, Primary care and mental health at HMP Lewes and HMP Ford and our ever developing community forensic outreach service. Our secure services were rated as ‘Good’ during the Trust CQC inspection in 2016 with ‘outstanding’ for effectiveness.  The service has also been successful in a bid to be one of 3 national sites to pilot the new Forensic Mental Health Community Service Model (NHSE 2018) across our Forensic Services.

We are now looking for a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist for our male Medium Secure Admission Ward based at the Hellingly Centre.  We are looking for someone who is demonstrably committed to the provision of excellent, leading edge clinical care. This will be a clinician who is keen to lead collaboratively on developing the service and working in partnership with stakeholder to deliver an outstanding secure recovery pathway.

You will join our team of 10 Consultant Forensic and general adult Psychiatrists.
