Consultant in Emergency Medicine
The Department is changing and we are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and creative Consultant.
It is an exciting time to join our team. We have been in the top performing departments in the Country and received the CHKSS award for Patient Safety 2017 seeing approximately 70,000 patients a year. We are undergoing a £6.9 Million redevelopment of the Emergency Floor which has started and will lead to a bespoke ED by the end of 2018 transforming the way we deliver Emergency and Urgent care to our local population. The team is flexible, welcomes new ideas and the Trust’s focus is on empowering clinical leadership.
There is considerable scope for the successful candidate to be involved in service re-design and improvement projects, shaping the Departments future development and improvement of patient care.
Whilst the post has a strong emphasis on direct, consultant delivered emergency care, we are seeking applicants who will also have the ability to make a major contribution to training and up skilling our junior medical staff, extended role nursing staff and the wider professional team. We have just started to be actively involved in international research studies and the department’s many attributes include regional accreditation as a Trauma Unit, established use of emergency ultrasound, multi professional simulation sessions and teaching. We have close links to our CCG, STP and the University of Surrey.
Our team is developing a training programme for CESR applicants (for Locum Consultants and Speciality Doctors) which will include one to one mentoring with successful CESR Consultants.
The Consultant rota is semi-annualised with genuine flexibility to ensure a good work / life balance in a beautiful part of Surrey. Our existing team includes 10.4 WTE ED Consultants, 25 Specialty Trainee, Specialty doctor and Middle Grade doctors, ACCS trainees, FY2 & Trust doctors together
with 9 WTE Emergency Nurse Practitioners.
Interested applicants are invited to contact our Clinical Director Dr Lori Anderson firstname.lastname@example.org and we would be delighted to show you round the Department.
