Applications are invited for the exciting opportunity of the post of Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Eating Disorders for In-Patients, in NHS Grampian. This is based at the Eden Unit, in Aberdeen’s Royal Cornhill Hospital. This is an 8 sessions post or less by agreement. Become an important part of our team, at the heart of delivering high quality, patient-centred care for the North of Scotland region in the Speciality of Eating Disorders - this includes Grampian, Tayside and Highland board areas.

Aberdeen is well known for its superb quality of life and enjoys first class amenities, housing and schools.  Aberdeenshire includes some of the most spectacular countryside in Europe with Royal Deeside and the Cairngorm Mountain National Park and a wide range of outdoor pursuits within easy reach.  There are excellent connections with other British cities and the continent, flying time to London is a little over one hour with frequent daily flights - and road and rail links are easily accessible.

This post is now available following retirement. The successful candidate will be joining a multidisciplinary team which includes nursing, medical, occupational therapy and dietetics professionals.  It is an opportunity to help further develop the service and regional care pathways, working closely with cross-regional ED speciality teams and the clinical management team based locally.

The Eden Unit sits under the management structure provided by the hosted services for MH-currently hosted by NHSG.  It works closely with the new Integrated Joint Board structures across the region.

Candidates must have a higher medical qualification (MRCPsych. or equivalent), those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training in General Adult psychiatry, CAMHS psychiatry, or Psychotherapy leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR), with other relevant experience.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
