Consultant Lower Limb (Knee) Surgeon
The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust would like to appoint a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon as part of a planned expansion to join a dynamic team of consultant knee surgeons.
We are expanding our service and have a vacancy in the Trauma and Orthopaedic team for a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in knee surgery. The appointee will be expected to work flexibly within the knee team; and the multi-disciplinary team in the management of patients with complex knee pathology.
The appointee will help support the primary and revision arthroplasty service. You’ll have experience of managing patients requiring revision surgery, including managing patients with prosthetic joint infections.
At times they may be required to support the soft tissue knee service and experience of managing sports knee injuries would be desirable. The successful candidate will have the potential for close collaborative working with research teams in the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Science and a higher degree would be desirable. They will be expected to participate in the on-call rota.
All applications for consultant posts must either be on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register or be within six months of obtaining their CCT at the time of interview.

The appointee will be expected to work closely with the existing consultant surgical staff within both trauma and orthopaedics.
