Surgery Clinical Unit 

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is a leading centre for Paediatric Surgery for Greater London. The Department of Specialist Neonatal and Paediatric Surgery (SNAPS) is advertising for a new 10 PA’s Consultant Paediatric Surgeon substantive post. 

The SNAPS department is situated within the Division of J M Barrie with the clinical care provided on a specialised surgical ward called Chameleon and includes a four bed HDU. 

You will be expected to demonstrate their competence in written and spoken English. The post requires the applicant to have a CCT/CESR and have consultant level experience in Paediatric Surgery. 

Multi-disciplinary working is essential within the trust; the department frequently works in collaboration with the Intensivists, Gastroenterologists, Oncologists, Interventional Radiologists and Paediatricians. This specific post includes working with the cardiothoracic team for part of the role with joint operating and helping to develop the service with the existing consultant team. As a specialist paediatric/neonatal surgery service, we also provide an outreach clinic/ operating list and this role would also provide our specialist support to these hospitals in line with the job plan schedule. On call activity is category A.
