Clinical Tutor in Medical Education
Part Time (0.4 FTE preferred, some flexibility by negotiation)
Fixed Term – 2 years in the first instance with the possibility of extension
Salary: appropriate point on the Academic Clinical Lecturer salary scale
£32,478 - £61,716 pa pro rata

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to develop as a GP educator in the School of Medicine at a time of student number expansion. As well as providing some face to face teaching, the role includes the organisation and delivery of all aspects of medical student education. You will be expected to contribute to the GP team’s administrative processes relating to community based teaching; the support and development of clinical teachers in the community; quality assurance and enhancement; the development of educational materials; assessment of students’ knowledge and performance, and support & mentoring of students.
During the period of appointment, you will be expected to complete the Keele Certificate in Medical Education.
You will possess a medical Degree (or equivalent), be fully registered with the General Medical Council, have a licence to practise and MRCGP. You will have evidence of interest in teaching, good IT skills and the ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students. Effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are also essential, together with evidence of experience in teaching. You must currently be in practice or eligible to be appointed.
