Redland Hospital, Cleveland and Wynnum Health Service

The Anaesthetics Department are looking for a Director to join their team in a full time capacity. Located in Brisbane’s Bayside area of Cleveland, the successful applicant will supervise the clinical care of patients by the Registrar/Principal House Officers and Interns and provide high quality clinical care to patients requiring anaesthetic services.

This position will work throughout Redland Hospital, Cleveland.

About the Role

The Director of Anaesthetics is the senior professional medical officer for Anaesthetics in the Hospital and Health Service and is responsible for ensuring the highest professional and ethical standards are observed by all medical staff employed to provide medical services in Anaesthetics. The Redland Hospital has an active obstetric service, expanded surgical and ambulatory services and Paediatric patients from 12 upwards. 

The position will be required to provide clinical supervision and support, as appropriate, to Senior Medical Officers, Registrars, Principal House Officers, Interns and Medical Students working within the Redland Hospital.

Position Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the AHPRA.
  • FANZCA or equivalent qualification acceptable to the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and registrable with the AHPRA as a specialist in anaesthetics (or deemed specialist).
