Consultant Paediatrician in Community Child Health
The successful applicant will join the existing team of three Consultants who, along with 14 Career Grade Paediatricians deliver Developmental, Neurodisability and Specialist Child Protection Services to children across Grampian and the Northern Isles.
The post offers exciting opportunities to lead and develop multidisciplinary Child Development and Neurodisability Services, delivered in community settings, whilst based within the Community Child Health Department at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
The post holder will also deliver Community Child Health clinics to either Orkney or Shetland Islands. They will have options of commitment to the Child Protection on call rota and participating in Acute Medical Paediatrics at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital. Opportunities exist for the right candidate to access additional training in Community Child Health. The post is full-time (10PA's), but consideration will be given to flexible working arrangements. The Community Child Health Department is based in the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and is integral to the Combined Child Health Service of NHS Grampian.
The Child Health Institute of the University of Aberdeen is co-located within Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and supports NHS research activity as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).
