Consultant in Gastroenterology
North Bristol NHS Trust wishes to invite applications for a full time Consultant Gastroenterologist position. The successful applicant will play a key role in extending the Gastroenterology service and will work closely with other specialists in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Endoscopy, and Upper and Lower GI Surgery, to meet increased demand for ambulatory care, whilst also supporting inpatient and endoscopic services. It will be an advantage for the applicant to have a subspecialty interest in IBD, small bowel Endoscopy or nutrition..
Based in the newly opened Southmead Hospital Bristol, the post holder will be provided an opportunity to deliver care in one of Europe’s leading hospital facilities, afforded with comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic facilities in endoscopy and interventional radiology.
Serving a population of approximately 500,000, North Bristol NHS Trust is one of the largest in the country and is the largest in the South and West Region. The Trust has University Teaching status and has strong links with both the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England.
Applicants are required to be on the Specialist Register for Gastroenterology, have CCT in Gastroenterology, or be within six months of obtaining it by the interview date.
Full Registration with the GMC is essential. Experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices is essential.
