Joining our Centre for Workplace Health, you will be at the heart of preventing illness within Britain’s working population. You will also strive to improve the health of this group, taking on a lead role in implementing the objectives from our new Health Strategy. From investigating incidents to advising on occupational health issues in the workplace such as health surveillance, you will apply your medical, health and scientific knowledge to contribute to the technical work of HSE teams. Through the development and interpretation of information and research data, you will further our regulatory work, and deliver health-related organisational training for both internal team-members and external partners. This is a far-reaching role with the scope to transform the health outcomes for a huge proportion of the population, so we will also ask you to share your expertise with colleagues, speaking at national conferences once or twice a year.
With GMC registration and a licence to practise, it would be ideal if you also have a post-graduate qualification. With a full driving licence (or a suitable alternative) you will be a natural leader with the ability to work at pace. Able to make decisions under pressure, you will have relevant experience in one of the following areas: occupational medicine; specialty medical practice (such as dermatology, psychiatry or rheumatology); Primary Care work with relevant additional occupational medical experience; Public Health medicine with additional occupational medical experience; or another specialist field with additional medical experience. You will also be keen to support others in their understanding of health in the workplace, so you will be adept at seeking out opportunities for collaboration and adapting your knowledge for a variety of audiences.
