We are recruiting a tenth Consultant Acute Physician to join the Acute Medicine team at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. This post will allow the development of ED in-reach and closer working relationships with our Medicine for Older People Team.
A comprehensive clinical services review has determined that Royal Bournemouth hospital will become the main hospital for emergency care in East Dorset and planned care will be delivered from Poole hospital.
The appointee will provide service delivery in Acute Medicine and will be expected to be involved duties from among the following; Managing the Acute Medical take; Managing Short-stay medical in-patients; Medical Ambulatory Care; General Medical on-calls and PTWR (approx. 1 in 24), ED in-reach, Evening and weekend working, 7-day working
The successful candidate will be on the Specialist Register for Acute Medicine, or within six months of achieving specialist registration at the time of interview.
We are keen to appoint the right candidate who is flexible, enthusiastic and self-motivated. We are keen to enable the successful candidate to develop as a leader and to further enhance service delivery within our changing organisation. Research, a higher degree and overseas experience are not essential, although will be regarded favourably.
