Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia with a Cardiac Interest
The East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre (EMCHC) is entering an exciting period and this role plays a crucial part in its success. Following the fantastic news that EMCHC will continue to be commissioned to provide Level 1 surgical and interventional Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) services we can now look forward to the ambitious growth and development necessary to make our service the centre of choice for the patients in the East Midlands.
In order to meet the CHD standards on collocation of paediatric services we have an exciting plan to move from the Glenfield Hospital to our main Leicester Royal Infirmary site and create a new bespoke Children's Hospital by April 2020. The project for this work is well underway and this role will have the opportunity to help influence the facilities and protocols for paediatric anaesthetics to be delivered into the future.
EMCHC is home to the largest ECMO centre in the U.K. and the only mobile ECMO service. We work hand in hand with this extraordinary team and are renowned for training and research in this area.
Joining now, you will be part of the team creating a 'Centre of excellence' within the East Midlands.
