Consultant ENT Surgeon
Tunbridge Wells Hospital & Maidstone Hospital
This is a Substantive Permanent post to cover for one of our current 5 Consultants who left the Trust recently. The Trust is looking for a Candidate who is an Otology Specialist but also undertake routine ENT work. Participation in the Consultant On Call on a 1:5 basis is required.
The successful applicant will be providing general, ENT services , including Paediatric Services, on a Trust wide basis. We are looking for a candidate presents who has an interest in Otology and can support and develop the current Otology service, which the previous post holder has provided for a number of years with the assistance of another Consultant colleague. In addition evidence of surgical competence in all aspects of the specialty is required.
The department functions on a hub and spoke model with inpatient care undertaken at the New Tunbridge Wells Hospital. Day case surgery is performed at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital and at Maidstone District General Hospital. Clinics are held on these sites and currently at some local community hospitals.
The Trust was successful in its PFI application for a new single site District General Hospital and the new Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury, where the ENT On Call service is based, opened in 2011. All clinical services provided by the Trust are managed on a cross site basis.
