Applicants are invited to apply for the posts of Consultant in Acute Medicine at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust (GEH).

The successful candidate will play a key role in the continuing development of the department of Acute Medicine, the Division of Medicine and the wider organisation as the trust strives to continue to improve the services available to our local community through the engagement of high quality clinical leadership.

The department of Acute Medicine is being reconfigured with the aim of offering seven day per week provision in order that our patients are provided with high quality clinical care at the front door and beyond, in partnership with our Accident and Emergency department team. We are supported in this by Divisional Managers, with whom we have excellent working relationships.

George Eliot Hospital provides acute medical services to the people of Nuneaton and Bedworth, North Warwickshire, and Hinckley and Bosworth. The area is home to large market towns, former heavy industrial settlements and rural communities and the Trust serves a population of 240.000 with varied health needs.

You are welcomed into a friendly, modern and well equipped facility. The Trust is affiliated to the University of Warwick Medical School and has outstanding purpose built postgraduate teaching facilities, including an excellent library and state of the art learning support facilities.

There is ample choice of settings for accommodation as well as a variety of leisure provision and excellent schools in the area. Birmingham International Airport is nearby as are the cities of Birmingham, Coventry and Leicester with all the cultural and lifestyle opportunities to be expected of large cities.
