Consultant in Paediatrics Orthopaedics
You are invited for a Consultant post in Paediatric Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery. There is no on-call duties attached to this post at present, but in the future, participation in an on-call rota may occur.
The Department of Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery at Addenbrooke's Hospital provides an emergency and elective service and Addenbrooke's Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Centre.
A trauma commitment in the form of Fracture clinics and Trauma lists is part of the job plan.
The post will be based at Addenbrooke's Hospital, with some activities in regional hospitals.
Paediatric Orthopaedics at Addenbrooke’s is a growing speciality with patients coming from across South East England. You will be working in exciting and innovative orthopaedic and paediatric departments.
Addenbrooke’s provides a regional oncology service, has a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the regional Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, regional Genetics unit and furthermore all paediatric subspecialties are represented. The Trauma and Orthopaedics Department covers all Orthopaedic Subspecialties except Tumour Surgery.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have CCT or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
You must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).
