This post is for a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Paediatric Radiology at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, the position is based at Watford General Hospital. The position would also involve a commitment to the AAU Radiology rota. 

All acute in-patient work is carried out at Watford General Hospital in the Acute Assessment Unit. The Trust has two additional sites at Hemel Hempstead General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital. Outpatient’s services including imaging are provided at all three sites. There is an elective surgical unit at St Albans City Hospital. All three hospitals are north of London with attractive surrounding countryside and excellent transport links.

There is a requirement to work some extended hours into the evening and at weekends in providing a Consultant led service for the acute admissions. The reporting of out of hours CT scans has been outsourced to a private company and the successful candidate would be expected to join the back up on-call rota (1:15).

The post is full-time, however, applicants wishing to work part-time or job-share are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant must possess the F.R.C.R. or equivalent and have their C.C.T. or be within six months of obtaining their C.C.T. at the time of interview.
