We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to assist in the delivery of a high quality Breast Screening Service to eligible women from Ayrshire & Arran and Dumfries & Galloway, and will complement the current team of 2 Consultant Breast Radiologists and two Breast Clinicians, working in conjunction with specialist Breast Care Nurses and Radiographers. 

The eligible population of SWSBSP is 82,705, spread over a geographical area of 3,788 square miles, serviced by 2 mobile units with the remainder of the screening takes place in our centre at Ayrshire Central Hospital.

This role will involve clinical assessment/examination, onward surgical/oncology referral, liaison with primary care and public health departments, and breast health promotion and education. You will also be a vital member of the multidisciplinary team for the Family History Screening Programme for Ayrshire.  Further opportunities may be available for further mammographic/ultrasound and biopsy training as required for the service.

The T&Cs are those determined by the New Specialty Doctor Grade (Scotland) 2008, offered on a 5 PA basis. A minimum of 4 years full-time postgraduate training, at least 2 years of which will have been within general medicine.
