Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR) Connects
Exciting opportunity to become one of tomorrow’s Cancer Research Leaders
The University of Sheffield is currently attracting high quality clinically and non-clinically qualified Senior Research Fellows to strengthen our clinical research base, to deliver tangible improvements in cancer outcomes for patients in Yorkshire and beyond.
We are interested in receiving applications from a range of specialties, for example, medical, clinical and surgical oncology, haematology, radiology, pathology, genetics, public health, general practice, as well as, medical statistics and health economics.
Appointees should focus on clinical and translational aspects of cancer research within the following priority themes, that align closely with the Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR) research strategy:
- Improving clinical outcomes in common malignancies (e.g. breast, prostate, lung, GI cancers)
- Improved health and wellbeing with and beyond cancer
- Early diagnosis and access to treatment (e.g. lung, urological and colorectal cancers)
You will also link with the University of Sheffield Research Centres, thereby providing a connected research infrastructure with the dual aims of reducing cancer mortality and improving the experience of living with or after a cancer diagnosis.
Clinical appointees will also hold an honorary consultant appointment within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The salary for the senior non-clinical fellowships will be at grade 8/9 dependent on experience.
