Assistant Professor of  Molecular Epidemiology

A position at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is open for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Molecular Epidemiology. The ideal applicant will have an international reputation in both research and education in molecular epidemiology within the metabolic disorders theme, with expertise in bioinformatics, in particular high-throughput omics and next generation sequencing analysis. Reporting to the Vice Dean, Research/ Assistant Dean, Research and Dean, the appointee is expected to undertake high quality research in molecular epidemiology, focusing on high-throughput omics and next generation sequencing analysis, in line with the research strategy of the School, and obtain research funding and supervise research staff and students. The appointee will also be expected to contribute to medical and graduate student training. 

 Person Specification:

·          PhD degree

·          Significant experience and outstanding record of translational clinical research and teaching, with a high level of scientific achievement, productivity and impact in the field of molecular epidemiology, in particular in the area of DNA sequence variation and genome regulation.

·          Hands-on experience/Good understanding of relevant laboratory experiments will be an added advantage.

·          Proven track record in internationally competitive research evidenced by high impact peer-reviewed publications.

·          Ability to work in and develop teams and to create networks at both a national and international level.

·          Understanding of the academic and administrative needs of internationally recognised universities.

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is a partnership between two of the world’s premier institutions of higher education: Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
