Consultant Posts In Luminal Gastroenterology with either a Subspecialty Interest in either IBD or Upper GI

Applications are invited to apply for a number of newly created posts within the department of Gastroenterology at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. We are looking to attract ambitious and driven candidates for specific posts to deliver subspecialty care and personalised medicine in: Inflammatory Bowel disease and therapeutic colonoscopy, Upper GI luminal disease (benign and malignant), and functional GI disease/motility disorders.

These newly appointed post holders will be working within the brand new and state of the art Gastroenterology/Endoscopy unit (10 roomed unit) in the Quadram Institute which will open this September 2018.

This state of the art institute will give candidates access and an opportunity to help deliver world class leading research and clinical trials in their chosen subspecialty.

Although all of these posts are advertised as full time NHS posts depending on the applicants background there is an option to develop an academic component to these job plans upon preinterview and interview discussions.

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals is situated in heart of the Norwich Research Park. The Norwich Research Park (NRP) is an association of co-located institutions namely UEA, NNUH, the John Innes Centre for plant research (JIC), the Quadram Biosciences, and the Earlham Genome Centre (TGAC) and the Sainsbury Centre. The different institutions provide a unique opportunity for health-related research alongside its medical school.

The NNUH is situated in the heart of Norfolk and is considered one of the top places to live in the United Kingdom with a vibrant city alongside spectacular costal areas and is perfect for family life with a favourable house prices.

The department has a strong training and personal development ethos and if candidates wish to develop new skills post appointment these will be supported within the department.

The department has strong histology, radiology and Interventional radiology support and is supported by over 22 outstanding nurse specialists working within it.
