Consultant in Nuclear Medicine/Radionuclide Imaging
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals is the regional teaching hospital, providing general acute services to Brighton and Hove and Mid Sussex and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the south east of England. Working as one hospital across two sites in Brighton and Haywards Heath, we treat over half a million patients a year.
This is a new post originally established as a consequence of extension of the PETCT and Molecular Radionuclide Therapy services. The successful applicant will be expected to rotate across three sites, Brighton, Hayward’s Heath and the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (PETCT), undertaking general Nuclear Medicine reporting, Nuclear Cardiology, PETCT and Radionuclide Therapy (please note that experience in radionuclide therapy is not essential and where necessary the successful applicant will be expected to undertake further training in this area).
The Nuclear Medicine Department sits within the Imaging Department, which will shortly be subject to an exciting change as a part of the Trusts 3Ts program. A wide range of diagnostic procedures are performed including nuclear cardiology, renal, lung, infection/inflammation, skeletal, tumour, GI, brain and lymphatic are undertaken in the department. Therapy includes services for thyroid and bone targetted treatment.
