Full-time substantive Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry, Camden Community Crisis Care Pathway: Consisting of the Acute Day Hospital & Camden Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team.
Full-time 10 PA's

Camden & Islington Foundation Trust are seeking to appoint a bright and enthusiastic clinician to this substantive Consultant position based in Camden, North London.

The post has become available following retirement of the previous incumbent.

The post will cover specific parts of the community crisis pathway in north and south Camden. The main teams covered will be the north Camden Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT), based at 3 Daleham Gardens, London NW3 5BY and the Jules Thorne acute day unit/Recovery Centre based at St Pancras Hospital, St Pancras Way, London NW1 0PE.The postholder will also provide oversight to patients admitted to the Daleham Crisis House, also based at 3, Daleham Gardens. This pathway falls within the Acute Services division of the Trust.

The position is available from September 2018. 

The Trust encourages flexible working and will consider part-time job-share arrangements. (Such an arrangement would depend on having at least two potentially appointable part-time applicant applications.)

The role of the Consultant is to be the clinical lead of the team and to ensure high quality, patient-centred, effective, safe and efficient care is delivered by the team. 

The post is subject to the annual job-planning process as agreed under the new Consultant contract. Inner London weighting supplement applies. They will be fully supported by junior medical input (Specialty Grade, FY, CT1-3 and Higher Trainee 4-6 sessions) and secretarial cover with the usual office/administration facilities. They will be supported in pursuing appropriate continuing professional development and will also be encouraged to apply for honorary senior lecturer status with the medical school. 

The trust became a Foundation Trust in February 2008 and continues as a mental health organisation. It has well established links with the United Royal Free and University College London medical schools and the North London Junior and higher Psychiatric training schemes. 

Camden is an exciting multicultural inner-city borough just on the edge of the west end of London. There is a contiguous mix of relatively affluent and deprived areas.

Applicants are expected to have MRCPsych or equivalent, full GMC registration, current licence to practise and either be on the specialist register or within 6 months of obtaining their CCT or equivalent at the point of interview.
