Consultant in Donor Medicine
You are invited for this post based in our Colindale Blood centre, North London. This is an opportunity to become a key member of NHS Blood and Transplant(NHSBT) Clinical team, providing expert advice and leadership in Donor Medicine. Key duties include making an active contribution to the safety of donors and patients. You will represent the clinical team on national committees, operational project teams and ad hoc working groups.
You will be required to participate in daytime and out-of-hours on call rotas (by telephone) for donor medicine. The Rota provision is currently under review so this may change.
NHSBT is the sole provider of blood components and organs for transplantation to the NHS as well as supplying tissues and haemopoietic stem cells for transplantation, therapeutic apheresis and immunohematological diagnostics. NHSBT has a Research and Development programme in collaboration with leading academic centres.
Induction and post CCT training in the specialist aspects of the role will be provided to candidates who can offer the essential core capabilities.

You must be on the GMC Specialist Register in Haematology with a licence to practise with the General Medical Council or be eligible for registration within6 months of interview.
