An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Grade or Associate Specialist in Acute Respiratory Medicine to join a small team consisting of one Consultant and a Junior Doctor, joining a larger Acute Medicine team. You will be the lynchpin of this small specialty team in which you will be encouraged to fully develop specialty skills and audit/research interests in a very friendly and relaxed environment. 

The acute medicine team consists of ten Consultant Physicians with a full complement of junior staff, managing your share of acute medical admissions to 65 inpatient beds plus High Dependency/Coronary Care and Intensive Care units.  

The Acute Medicine on call rota is on a 1:8 basis, currently attracting 6 APA’s.  Consultant specialties in the Division of Medicine include Cardiology, Diabetes, Elderly Care, Endocrinology & Metabolic Medicine, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Oncology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Rheumatology and Neurology. Other Consultant-led services in the Directorate of Medicine are Dermatology. 

The successful candidate will work with a Consultant, Clinical Fellow (F3) and a Foundation Year One Doctor. In addition to the on call team, a Foundation Year Two doctor is in place at weekends to support the EAU Department. 

Full travelling expenses are paid from a UK port of entry, with a generous relocation package available and the appointee may take advantage of Jersey taxation policies.

The post attracts residential qualifications and Jersey has excellent affordable private education for children. Under Jersey Law, applicants must possess FULL registration with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice.
