Consultant Anaesthetist with interest in Obstetric Anaesthesia
Work Base: West Middlesex University Hospital
We are seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist with an interest in Obstetric Anaesthesia to join our team here at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust at the West Middlesex site.
The West Middlesex site has a long history of pioneering, innovative healthcare. Based in Isleworth it is at the heart of the local community - a modern,award-winning hospital with state of the art facilities.
You will be joining five other Consultant Obstetric Anaesthetists who are involved in providing the highest level of care for all the obstetric patients as a part of the multi-disciplinary team including dedicated anaesthetic antenatal clinics, where obstetric high-risk patients are assessed by a Consultant Anaesthetist. Specialist and Core Trainees rotating from Imperial School receive formal training in Obstetric Anaesthesia. The position attracts a total of 10.5 PAs. The obstetric service is backed by a rigorous governance programme, with multi-disciplinary education and governance meetings. The department also participates in the National Obstetric Audit Database (NOAD). We have high fidelity simulation within the education centre. Opportunities for research and audit are plentiful.
The Department of Anaesthesia covers all surgical specialties and is currently involved in many exciting initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for excellent individuals with the appropriate skills to join the team in an active and progressive London teaching hospital.
