Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to apply for the post of Consultant Hepatopancreatobiliary/General Surgeon in the Department of General Surgery at East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The post will be based at the Royal Blackburn and Burnley Teaching Hospitals.

This is a new post to create a team of 5 Consultants providing a tertiary HPB service to the population of Lancashire and S Cumbria. We are seeking a colleague who will complement the current members of the HPB team, help meet cancer and other targets for malignant and benign HPB work, and contribute to achieving targets for the general surgical workload.  Expertise in major liver, pancreatic and complex biliary surgery is essential, as well as experience in laparoscopic HPB surgery. 

There are opportunities for both teaching and research which are actively encouraged and supported.

The successful candidates must have completed Specialist Training and be entered on the Specialist Register of the GMC, or have a CCT date within 6 months of the interview.
