Based in Guildford, the Royal Surrey County Hospital (RSCH) is a leading general hospital with 507 beds and specialist centre for cancer services and treatment. We are seeking an enthusiastic colleague to complement and enhance our experienced team of 7 Consultant Gastroenterologists (including this position) based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. This is a full time post (10PAs).

The candidate will be a key member of the regional gastroenterology/hepatology service and attend the tertiary network multidisciplinary team meetings in their relevant subspecialty e.g. Hepatitis C/PBC Operational Delivery Network, upper GI, Liver, HPB, HCC/NET, colorectal and IBD.

The Gastroenterology Team deliver a consultant GI bleed on call rota in addition to a reduced commitment to the general medical take. It is anticipated that over the next 6-9 months, a 7 day Keogh specialist rota (including gastroenterology) instead of the unselected GIM on call will be implemented. Possession of MRCP or equivalent qualification is essential, and applicants must be holders of a CCT in General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology or be within six months of obtaining this.

A subspecialty interest in Luminal Gastroenterology is desirable and/or interventional endoscopy would sit best with the Trust’s strategic view, however this is not essential for applying.
